With our GP Access Appointments we aim to assess and see you as soon as possible:

  1. Ring the surgery during opening hours.
  2. A doctor will aim to call you back usually within the hour or at a later time to suit you. if your GP is available they will ring you, otherwise it will be one of our other doctors.
  3. During your telephone consultation, the GP will discuss your problem and agree what to do. You may only need advice or a prescription; or you may be offered an appointment which the doctor will arrange for you.

Minor Injuries

01233 884 585

8.00am - 6.30pm
Mon - Fri
Call before
coming in

No need to go to A&E when you can come to Wye Surgery. Our specially trained nurses can treat a wide range of minor injuries like:
- Small cuts or infected wounds
- Minor burns and scalds
- Foreign bodies in the eye
- Insect or animal bites
- Bangs, twists and sprains
- Other minor injuries.

Should I go to

If it’s not a 999 emergency, call
Wye Surgery or
dial 111 if we’re closed.

Accident and Emergency departments at hospitals are intended only for seriously ill people with life threatening injuries or conditions.

Please don’t go to A&E with minor problems that can easily be treated elsewhere - it diverts medical resources away from where they are most needed, causes delays and costs the NHS money.

If your condition is not serious you can normally get the treatment you need either at a local minor injuries unit or other centre, or by coming into Wye Surgery.

If you’re unsure what to do - call for advice
If we’re open - call us on 01233 884 585
If we’re closed - dial 111 and speak to the NHS 111 service.

A&E is not free.

Go straight to A&E if you are seriously ill, badly injured or have a life threatening condition, eg:
- Heavy bleeding
- Difficulty breathing
- Burns or scalds
- Chest pain
- Loss of consciousness
- Fits that don’t stop.
The nearest Accident & Emergency Department to Wye Surgery is William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

Out of Hours

Dial 111 -
If we are shut
or unavailable

NHS 111 will advise you what to do, and arrange any local health services you need.
